Review of the EMWA Conference in Birmingham

Some 368 attendees made their way to the ICC in Birmingham from 2-6 May 2017 for the 44th EMWA Conference. We were happy to welcome 115 first time attendees. The EMWA Professional Educational Committee offered a total of 31 foundation workshops and 18 advanced workshops. These covered a broad range of familiar and new topics.

The Symposium Day, “Transparency and Disclosure of Clinical Regulatory Documentation”, focused on the rapidly changing field of regulatory public disclosure requirements and how these changes impact the consumers, the writers, and how information is disclosed. The Expert Seminar Series was held either side of the Symposium Day to provide a 3-day content package suited to senior and experienced medical writers.

Thanks to an action packed social program and other side events such as the Freelance Business Forum, Internship Forum and many more there was something to please everyone at the conference.

We look forward to seeing you at the next conference in Portugal in November!
