Barcelona EMWA conference reporting

EMWA would like to offer an opportunity to delegates attending the 46th Conference in Barcelona to write short news articles about sessions you are attending during the Spring Conference.

The objective of this initiative is to allow all EMWA members to gain some insights shared during the Conference key sessions. It also provides an opportunity for members to practice their journalistic skills.

All articles will be compiled and published in the EMWA journal Medical Writing. Developed articles must follow the journal style guide and will pass through the journal editorial review process.

As this is an exercise in medical writing journalism, EMWA expects all volunteering reporters to be professional about providing accurate and impartial information concerning the key messages communicated in the sessions covered. This is not an opportunity to provide a personal review or commentary.

Below you find sessions to be covered:

Wednesday 2 May
ESS: Pharmacovigilance
ESS: Orphan drugs and rare disorders
Thursday 3 May 2018
Symposium: Medical Devices and Technologies – Emerging opportunities for Medical Communicators.
Friday 4 May
ESS: General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and EMA Policy 0070
ESS: Clinical trial registries and Public databases
ESS: Use of clinical study reports for Cochrane Reviews
ESS: Medical journalism
EMWA social events, general comments and interviews from EMWA delegates during the meeting are also eligible.

If you are interested writing up one or more sessions, or would like further information, please contact EMWA head office at info@emwa.org with email subject ‘EMWA conference reporting’.

Amy Whereat will be coordinating the team of EMWA Barcelona Spring Conference journalists and liaise with Medical Writing editors.
