EMWA Autumn Conference -
4th - 24th November 2021
November Conference – Registration now open!
This Autumn conference offers something new – our first hybrid conference day. On 4th November, UK colleagues will be able to get together in a London venue where speakers will be presenting ‘live’ for all conference delegates (in London and online). There will also be opportunities for EMWA members to meet local colleagues face to face in venues in some other European cities, from where they can follow sessions via broadcast from London. And, of course, members will also have the option to attend virtually from their home or office.
From the second day (5th November) the conference will be fully virtual.
So, what can you look forward to on Day 1 and Day 2 of the conference?
There will be seminars such as ‘How to work more efficiently in and on your business’, ‘Open Access’, ‘Predatory publishing in animal space’ and ‘Introduction to medical writing’. We are also excited to have a new edition of ‘Getting into medical writing’, as well as the ever-popular ‘Freelance business forum’. There will be also presentations about the recently published AWMA-EMWA-ISMPP joint position statement on peer-review and pre-prints, and the Open Pharma recommendations for plain language summaries of peer-reviewed medical journal publications.
We have launched a new salary survey and will be sharing some of the outcomes on Day 1. And, not to forget, the first (hybrid conference) day will end with the traditional Opening session where our Portuguese colleagues will tell us about Portugal and its science. We will conclude the busy Day 1 with a networking session and Day 2 with online yoga.

A series of virtual EMWA workshops
We will be running 29 workshops (including 1 double workshop) between 6 and 24 November. These will cover a wide range of topics and levels (foundation and advanced).
Both foundation and advanced workshops can be done to gain EPDP credits and EMWA certificates (see our training page for more details).
Please note that there is a maximum number of participants for each workshop (usually 32 for a foundation workshop and 20 for an advanced workshop).
