EMWA Professional Development

The EMWA Professional Development Programme (EPDP) provides high-quality training for medical writers through workshops and homework assignments. All workshops are taught by leaders with hands-on expertise in the topic and are approved by the EMWA Professional Development Committee (EPDC).
We run the workshops at the EMWA conferences in spring and autumn each year. For details of upcoming conferences, please see the conferences page.

There are about 120 different workshops in the EPDP programme, covering subjects that span all areas of medical writing, as well as related topics such as statistics, health economics and cross-cultural communication. You can browse the EPDP brochure to see the full range of EPDP workshops and workshop leaders’ biographies.

The brochure also explains how to gain credits for workshops and apply for an EMWA certificate.
The EMWA webinars programme gives opportunities for medical writers to develop skills in the profession and find out about the latest initiatives in the medical writing world. Visit the webinar page to find out about upcoming webinars and the webinar archive.

We are always interested in our members’ feedback on our training, and welcome ideas for new workshops and webinars. Please feel free to contact us with your comments, ideas or queries.
