If this is your first EMWA conference you may want to consider joining the EMWA buddy scheme.  A buddy is an experienced member who helps first-time conference attendees figure out how the conferences work and to break the ice in meeting other members.

When you are assigned an EMWA buddy they are committed to help you as follows:

• To be available by email and/or phone prior to the conference to answer questions (e.g. about logistics of the meeting) and plan a time and place to meet up on arrival.
• To let the new member(s)* tag along with them during the welcome reception.  This way you can get to know their friends and colleagues at the conference, which makes it easier for you to get to know people.
• Be generally available during the rest of the conference to answer questions or point you in the right direction if you have questions they don’t know the answer to.
