For the first time in the history of EMWA, our conference was environmentally friendly. As described in the article
below, written by our Head Office, EMWA went to enormous lengths to product a greenier conference. Not only
did we replace the bulky and non-recyclable workbooks of previous years with reusable plastic ring binders, but
all materials used at the conference were printed on recycled paper.

Our thanks to MCI for encouraging this move to greener behaviour!

EMWA AUTUMN

CONFERENCE in

frankfurt goes

green!

I thought I'd share with you what we have recently delivered for the EMWA Autumn Conference. Hopefully some of what we have achieved will inspire you to be more green at your next event!

The EMWA Autumn Conference, being held in Frankfurt from Friday, was given the extra challenge of being as environmentally friendly as possible.  This meant that everything from badges to signage has had to be either produced from recycled materials, recyclable or biodegradable.  In this short newsletter, I have highlighted a few of the items you might find interesting and relevant to your clients!

A Group Effort

This was a true MCI group effort! PCO, IT and Marketing all worked hard to ensure each individual deliverable met the brief. It goes to show that you can take a few easy, and cost effective, steps to ensure your clients events are just that little bit greener!

CONFERENCE FOLDER

At previous meetings, a large wire-bound conference guide along with a bag had been given to each delegate, but in order to try and be more efficient EMWA decided to use bags already in stock and provide an empty binder for hand-outs.

We were able to recommend different folder options, including a recycled plastic expandable wallet, but in the end EMWA opted for a 2D ring binder made from 65% recycled materials with the tabs being made of 100% recycled card.

Also, instead of a heavy and expensive conference guide a mini-guidebook was produced and printed on recycled FSC and PEFC* approved paper.

*FSC and PEFC are accreditation's awarded to businesses that use paper sourced from sustainable woodland.

PAPER

Delegates to the EMWA conference can attend a number of workshops, it was important that the handouts for each workshop were printed in advance.   We sourced 100% recycled oxygen bleached paper and made sure there was enough extra to take on site!

BADGES & SIGNAGE

The badges we provide in-house already will biodegrade within 1-5 years, and our signage supplier made sure all the foamboards produced were also biodegradable. Also the card signage was printed on 100% recycled card.
