With nearly 15 years' experience of writing for specialist and non-specialist audiences, I can provide a wide range of services, including:
  • Reviews
  • Reports

I also offer copy/sub-editing, proof reading/quality control, publications planning and publication project management (including liaison with key opinion leaders).

I pride myself on meeting deadlines and tailoring my work to the end user - be they research scientist, patient, doctor, sales team member, marketer or publisher. My clients include a number of medical education and communications agencies and STM publishers.

Expertise:
My work to date has covered many therapeutic areas and I quickly familiarise myself with new areas. My experience includes work on pharmaceuticals and medical devices. I specialise in:
  • Cardiovascular disease
  • Dermatology (in particular, pigmentary disorders and non-melanoma skin cancer)
  • Genomics and proteomics
  • Infectious diseases (in particular, HIV and hepatitis)
  • Metabolic disorders (in particular, diabetes)

Other Information:
I am first and foremost a scientist. After obtaining a 2:1 in biological chemistry from the City University, London, I worked in the fine chemicals industry (pharmaceuticals, food ingredients, agrochemicals) for nine years before moving into medical publishing - latterly as Editorial Manager for PJB Publications (now T&F Informa), publishers of Scrip and Clinica. I went freelance four years ago and have built Elmcroft Editorial Services on repeat business and word-of-mouth recommendation.

I am happy to work in-house or to travel, where appropriate, but am just as happy to work from home.
